There are several National Parks in Croatia, and some of them belong to the Istria Peninsula, as is the case of the Brijuni Islands, or the National Park of Kornati. The natural flora and fauna is wide and impressive both on the peninsula and on the surrounding areas.

In Istria it is worth mentioning the Lim Canal, a marine reserve where diving is an unforgettable experience thanks to the array of marine flora and fauna; and the Natural Reserve of Vrsar.
The Brijuni National Park is composed of two large islands and dozens of small islands, situated near Pula. It covers an area of around 40 square kilometres, and has an abundant flora and fauna. There is a zoo in this National Park. The Kornati Archipelago is in the Mediterranean and extends from Istria until the Dalmatian Coast.
